June 2025: Sunshine, Strategy, and Stronger Communities

This past month, our very own Don H. Nguyen was honored by U.S. Representative Darren Soto for his outstanding contributions to the Central Florida community. In addition to representing many of the region’s premier communities and condominiums, Don has become a recognized civic leader for his charitable and mentorship work.

We cannot express how unique and great an honor it was for Don's biography to be officially entered into the Congressional Record of the United States!

We’re nominated again for Best of Florida!

Last year, DHN Attorneys was recognized for our commitment to building lasting partnerships and delivering real results for our clients. You can read our feature from last year here!

New Blog: When Rule Enforcement Becomes Discrimination

Board board members and community managers have a duty to enforce rules and maintain order, but those actions must also comply with fair housing laws. Recent cases underscore how enforcement decisions can trigger liability under the FHA if applied in a discriminatory manner or fail to accommodate disabilities. Read more.

We've been on the road this year, speaking to community association managers  across Central Florida as part of DHN Attorneys’ continuing education series. These in-person sessions cover timely legal updates, practical enforcement strategies, and real-world problem-solving tailored to CAMs and the communities they serve.

Ryan Fong was invited to speak at Starbucks’ Pan-Asian Partner Network panel in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month. He shared with the audience insights on advocacy, identity, and leadership within the legal and business communities.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, DHN Attorneys sponsored the Shark Stride 5K, a charitable fun run organized by a dedicated group of more than 20 physician assistant students attending Nova Southeastern University's campus in Orlando. The event raises funds for their annual medical mission trip to the Alta Verapaz region of Guatemala, where they provide healthcare and support to an underserved indigenous community.

In partnership with the PA-led nonprofit Hands of Esperanza, the students work to deliver critical medical care, medications, and public health resources to those in need. Proceeds from the race went directly toward the cost of medical supplies, smoke-diverting stoves, and long-lasting water filtration systems that can make a lasting impact in the region.

A Message from our Founder

This year has been a whirlwind and it's hard to believe we're already halfway through 2025! I was extremely surprised and honored with Congressman Soto's office contacted me to inform me that he would be reading my biography into the Congressional Record due to my contributions not just to the AAPI community of Central Florida, but the entire community as a whole. For so many years, my Firm and I have had the privilege of representing so many amazing clients that have made news and headlines and put Orlando on the map, but we've always done so from behind the scenes. To celebrate this honor with my family was an experience I'll never forget.

Also, I took so much pride in being able to sponsor the Shark Stride 5K because of it feels like just yesterday, I was in their shoes. In 2003, while I was a college student, I had the opportunity to go on a service trip to rural Vietnam. Because I didn't have the funds to finance my ticket or provide meaningful donations, I did what these Nova Southeastern students did and asked local businesses for donations. But for the generous donations of so many strangers, I would not have had a chance to go on that life-changing trip. It was a full circle moment for me to return the favor and pay it forward with these students.

Thank you all for being part of our network. Wishing you all the best of successes for the second half of 2025!

Don H. Nguyen, Esq., Firm Principal and Founder
