After a thorough application and vetting process, the City of Orlando has officially awarded DHN Attorneys certification as a minority-owned business enterprise. Our law firm is 1 out of approximately just 10 law firms in Orlando that has received this certification.
The Minority & Women Business Enterprise Program was established to increase opportunity for minority and women-owned firms to participate in city procurement and to ensure equal contracting opportunities. The goal is to award minority business enterprises with 18% of the City’s annual monetary value of contracts and subcontracts for supplies, services, and construction.
The City of Orlando has developed a thorough certification process which includes a review of company ownership, management control, and operation control to determine compliant with the City of Orlando’s Certification Board Rules and City of Orlando Code. Requirements include at least 51% independently owned and controlled by qualified minorities or women and provides a commercially useful business function according to customs and practices of the industry.
The application and certification process were spearheaded and largely undertaken by marketing director Nanda Ramsaywack. “One of our greatest strengths as an office and as a team is our diversity.
